Looking at the measurement table for petite sizes I realized even the largest size was 6cm (2 inches sumthin) short of my waist, so I simply added 3+3cm to the front and the back.

The fabric is easy to handle, but I just realized that it is only stretchy horizontally. Also the needle makes visible holes so no room for error. The stitching down looks ugly (I did not bother to match the thread) but now I know how I will make the real deal. I also know exactly how to decorate it heh heh heh....

I haven't finished the trial piece yet (need to finish the hems and the neck area) and haven't had time to try it on but to me the sleeves (which I have not adjusted) look just a tad bit big? I also have the impression that despite the official Burda measurements it is a tad too big which is a kind of a big deal with a moisture wicking fabric. We will see when I can finally try it on. (Guess what, we are having overnight guests this weekend again....)

BUTT it is a good start, I loved the colour blocking because it was far easier that I thought (okay, two pieces all in all), and I want to do the following:
  • draft a hood that is actually not cut separately if I can (running shirt so the hoodie does not need to be spacious - even if I hate condom-hoods) - goal is to have as few pattern pieces as possible, and I still have several meters of the fabric
  • lengthen the sleeves and add thumb holes (I AM a sucker for sleeves with thumb holes)
  • maybe add hidden pockets because I need somewhere to store the nuts for the squirrels
  • decoration (how good is it that I always buy useless crap like the black iron on patches of a thin silky/rubbery fabric that you can cut shapes out of)

Didn't have much time today (still figuring out this new daily schedule thing), so I copied the sewing pattern from the 2015 Burda that I want to use for the neongreen sports fabric. I just realized while looking at it that it was actually a petite size pattern so I will have to adjust it, and I want to add a hood because what good is a waterproof fabric if you only make a top out of it.
Thinking about what fabric use for the contrasting parts.
It will be a good exercise for colour blocking which I haven't really done before.

I love grab bags at the Flying Tiger Store, and I wasn't disappointed this time either, I got a black and white cord/fabric/whatever you call it round bowl/basket I put all my balls of yarn into.
ANNNND a sand mold. For kids. That looks like a friggin Greek temple! I could not find any info on the material so I do not know if it would be food safe for things like jelly, but I plan on using it for molding pastry/meat pies etc.
